Our Story

Put simply, we are two local lads, Steve and Simon, who have been fortunate enough to be brought up on Gower and still have the pleasure of living here today.

Our aim is to share our knowledge and passion for the Gower Peninsula with everyone who wants a real taste of Gower. We created The Lookout at Rhossili to showcase the best of local produce and offer a relaxed atmosphere for those out exploring our beautiful peninsula.

We both have our own young families and are proud that we are able to provide them with a true Gower upbringing similar to our own and our parents and grandparents before us.

Rhossili Bay is fast becoming world renowned as one of the most beautiful beaches on Earth. At The Lookout we have a perfect view to keep an eye on the bay and the surf.

We offer refreshments and snacks for surfers, sightseers, beach lovers, holiday-makers, adventurers and everyone in between. We have created a relaxed atmosphere to take a break from whatever your day has in store for you. Chill out for a while with us and then get back out there to really experience Gower.

Our team know Gower inside and out. Please come and have a chat for our recommendations for the must-see  locations as well as those hidden gems only a true local knows about. We can point you in the right direction.

'This little gem is tucked away just as you get here. Looks tiny but inside is very nice. We sat outside and they gave the dogs water without asking which was. Very nice coffee. Nice selection of ice cream and cakes as well are on offer. This little gem is well worth the couple of minute walk from the car park.' Titch Field

'Amazing cosy cafe with great food, drink and friendly staff.' Phil Reynolds

'The staff today were really friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We had coffees, a “Helvetia” hot chocolate, shortbreads and a chocolate brownie. Everything was excellent except the brownie which was the best one I’ve ever tasted! Incredible views all the way to Burry Holmes too. Thank you, we’re looking forward to coming back' Sally Philpin

'We popped in to dry off after a soggy walk on the beach and treated ourselves to some ice cream. Gorgeous little café which our toddler loved toddling about in and the ice cream was the best we’ve had all holiday - recommend the welsh cake flavour! If we’re back in Rhossili we definitely know where to go.' Vicky Turner-Weare

'Great food wonderful sandwiches and cakes plus lovely friendly staff what more could you ask when on a visit to Rhossili Bay on a Saturday afternoon. Please give this wonderful cafe a visit...' Mark Davies

'Lovely locally run cafe serving delicious homemade cakes (inc gluten free options), Joe's ice cream (try the welsh cake flavour), and a great selection of hot and cold meals. Super friendly staff, cosy setting, perfect spot to recover from a walk or day on the beach.' Siân Halkyard
